Here’s some advice about love and dating, straight from Taylor Swift!
The “Love Story” singer has been in a serious relationship with Travis Kelce since the winter of 2023.
Many might assume Taylor isn’t an expert on romance since she has a long list of exes, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t destined for her own happily ever after fairytale ending.
Taylor knows a thing or two about making it in Hollywood as a successful musician. Let’s see if she knows a thing or two about relationship advice.
Here’s a roundup of her best gems.
First, happy relationships still come with their fair share of adversity.
Taylor opened up to The Telegraph via Loverly and said, “Just because you’re happy in a relationship doesn’t mean that there aren’t moments of confusion or frustration or loneliness or sadness.”
In other words, whether you’re in a long-lasting relationship or not, there’s a chance you’ll still face some issues with your partner every once in a while.
It’s up to you and your partner to work through the drama and fight for each other so the relationship will continue thriving.
Second, solid communication within your relationship is a nonnegotiable.
In “”The Story of Us,” Taylor sings, “A simple complication/Miscommunications lead to fallout.”
The song was released in 2010 as part of her Speak Now album, but the sentiment is still relevant today.
If you’re struggling to share healthy communication with your partner, issues will undoubtedly keep arising.
Third, it’s okay to go ghost after a breakup.
In a Tumblr note via Glamour, Taylor said, “There is nothing wrong with avoiding people who hurt you. You fell in love, no games. Now you’re saying goodbye with no games. Protect yourself, please.”
From Taylor’s perspective, it’s perfectly fine to block your ex on social media and cut off all contact with them if that’s what it takes for you to move on with your life.
Fourth, choosing your soulmate should be based on feelings, not credentials.
According to E! News, Taylor said, “For me, when I picture the person I want to end up with, I don’t think about what their career is, or what they look like. I picture the feeling I get when I’m with them.”
Taylor doesn’t believe in judging potential partners based on their creds. Instead, she’d rather choose her soulmate based on how loved they can make her feel.
Fifth and finally, if someone is playing games with you, it’s time to cut them loose.
In that same article from E! News, Taylor also said, “All you can do is be honest and real with him as you get to know each other. Deciding not to play games is the best way to go because it keeps things simple: If he messes it up by playing around with your heart, you’ll know he doesn’t deserve you.”
To make a long story short, she doesn’t have time for players who are incapable of commitment.
She knows what she deserves, and she deserves real love from someone who isn’t scared to show it to her.
