The least toxic romantic connection Ivy had was with Nate, but that love story still came with its problems. She was still pretending to be Charlie Rhodes when they first shared a kiss. Truly, the only reason she wanted to kiss Nate was because she was trying to hide from her ex-boyfriend, Max Harding. In other words, she pretty much used Nate.

Dan Humphrey.

Dan is second in line since his romantic connection with Ivy was super cringeworthy. No one will soon forget the night they were hooking up and she asked him to call her “Serena” in the heat of the moment. It threw Dan for a loop and he was instantly turned off by her.

Ivy and Max’s relationship could have been something amazing if she’d chosen to continue living in Los Angeles with him. But instead, she got addicted to the glitz and glam of New York City and realized pursuing a life of opulence was more important than pursuing true love with Max. Things went completely south for Ivy and Max when he found out about how much money she had access to on the Upper East Side. He tried to blackmail Ivy into giving him money to fund his restaurant business.

One of the most toxic romantic connections on Gossip Girl among all the characters was the one between Ivy and Rufus. Ivy only started hooking up with Rufus because she was trying to get revenge on Lily van der Woodsen. At the same time, Ivy was also trying to edge Lily out of her penthouse. The drama proved that Ivy was seriously morally corrupt. Ivy didn’t have real feelings for Rufus, but Rufus was genuinely starting to fall for her. It was really bizarre since Ivy was the same age as his kids, Dan and Jenny.

William van der Woodsen.

The most toxic relationship of all for Ivy was the one she had with William. She was convinced that she’d be able to run away with William forever after completely ruining Lily‘s life. In the end, it turned out that William was only using Ivy for his own selfish plot because he wanted to get back together with Lily himself.
