Mindy is supposed to be a lovable side character on Emily in Paris, but it looks like some social media users aren’t totally loving her in every single scene.
Now that Season Four of the show is here, fans have a lot to say about Mindy, her character, arc, and the way she fits in on Emily in Paris.
Thoughts on Mindy
One social media user posted, “Am I the only one who dislikes Mindy? Just to be clear. I don’t hate her nor do I think she’s the worst character. To me, she always seemed pretty selfish. In every aspect. What do you guys think?”
Someone added, “I don’t really like her. She was okay in the first season, but I feel like she served her purpose and they haven’t written the character well. I think the actress seems good but the writing is inconsistent.”
A third fan responded, “I think Mindy is still finding herself and seems to sway whatever direction the wind is blowing. Other than enjoying singing, Mindy doesn’t seem to have a lot of strong convictions as far as I can tell, which is fine since she ultimately is just a sidekick.”
Someone else joined the conversation to say, “I don’t like Mindy. I hate her fashion sense. It’s so impractical and not realistic and she’s over dramatic and she cock blocks. She needs to get her own place.”
Another person added, “I’m not a fan, will she finally get her own apartment? She makes a lot of snide remarks, and I feel like the character changed a lot from the first season and she started wearing only sexy clothing and forced a narrative that she was extremely edgy in high school.”
But, it’s not all negative when it comes to the social media response about Mindy online at the moment. There are definitely tons of people who are supportive of her as a character.
One Mindy fan wrote, “I really like her but I wish she would dump Nico already.”
Someone else added, “She is honestly my second fav character after Sylvie. I do think Nico is no good for her but I like that she stands up to him all the time.”
A third Mindy fan wrote, “Honestly, I think she’s pretty great. She’s not selfish at all in my opinion. She was always there for Emily and listened to her problems. She even flew to Emily on that one trip to make sure she didn’t feel awkward with Camille.”
And another Mindy supporter chimed in with, “I love her, but the vibe is off this season. Honestly, she should have been the lead character because she’s less insufferable than Emily.”
