It turns out that music from Lana Del Rey is super connected to the characters from the legendary Harry Potter franchise.
Here’s your full breakdown.
Harry Potter: Mariners Apartment Complex.
Harry is the definition of a young man with leadership qualities based on everything fans saw him accomplish in the movie franchise.
Lana sings, “You lose your way, just take my hand. You’re lost at sea, then I’ll command your boat to me again. Don’t look too far, right where you are, that’s where I am. I’m your man.”
By the final movie, Harry proves his brilliance as a leader by taking down Voldemort for good.
Hermione Granger: Margeret.
Hermione was known for being one of the most intelligent students at Hogwarts. She was smarter than nearly everyone around her. She seemed to know it all because she was always studying.
Lana sings, “When you know, you know. So if you don’t know, don’t give up. ‘Cause you never know what the new day might bring.”
These lyrics track for Hermione who knew when she knew. She didn’t give up with each passing day at Hogwarts when she was learning lessons about how to cast spells with her magical power.
Ron Weasley: Chemtrails Over the Country Club.
Ron represented true friendship in the Harry Potter franchise since he was someone who always had Harry’s back, for the most part.
Lana sings, “Meet you for coffee at the elementary schools. We laugh about nothing as the summer gets cool It’s beautiful how this deep normality settles down over me. I’m not bored or unhappy, I’m still so strange and wild.”
Swap out coffee for butter beer and these lyrics could describe a moment of friendship between Harry, Hermione, and good ole’ Ron.
Lord Voldemort: 24.
Voldemort was a sick individual who wanted Harry dead at all costs.
Lana sings, “There’s only 24 hours in a day. And half of those, you lay awake. With thoughts of murder and carnage.”
Voldemort was constantly planning murder and carnage because he was motivated to end Harry’s life.
Draco Malfoy: Noir.
Draco was one of the most popular students at Hogwarts with a crazy intense desire to bully Harry every chance he got.
In Lana’s unreleased track, she sings, “Notorious dangerous but I’m crazy. Glamorous, dangerous. Notorious, but famous but I’m crazy.”
Draco’s notorious reputation on campus was one he was proud of, even though he didn’t exactly have redeeming qualities.
Albus Dumbledore: Born to Die.
Dumbledore made the ultimate sacrifice by dying for Harry.
Lana sings, “Choose your last words, this is the last time. ‘Cause you and I, we were born to die.”
Dumbledore knew he was going to die, but the sacrifice of his own life for the greater good was worth it to him.
Ginny Weasley: Let Me Love You Like A Woman.
Ginny ended up becoming Harry’s wife, showing him what true romantic love was meant to feel like.
Lana sings, “Let me love you like a woman. Let me hold you like a baby. Let me shine like a diamond. Let me be who I’m meant to be. Talk to me in poems and songs. Don’t make me be bittersweet. Let me love you like a woman. Let me hold you like a baby.”
By the end of the movie franchise, it’s clear that Ginny was the woman Harry was meant to be loved by the entire time.
Severus Snape: Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.
Snape was deeply misunderstood through the majority of the Harry Potter franchise. His motives were unclear until the end.
Lana sings, “But I’m just a soul whose intentions are good. Oh Lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood. If I seem edgy I want you to know. I never meant to take it out on you. Life has its problems. And I get more than my share. But that’s one thing I never mean to do.”
Although it seemed like he was a bad guy at first, he turned out to be someone who was on Harry’s side all along.
Rubeus Hagrid: Coachella.
Hagrid’s influence on Harry, Ron, and Hermione was undeniable. He stepped up and offered them guidance when needed.
Lana sings, “What about all these children and all their children’s children? And why am I even wonderin’ that today? Maybe my contribution could be as small as hopin’. That words could turn to birds. And birds would send my thoughts your way.”
The thoughts Hagrid sent Harry’s way were often helpful since he was a true ally.
