Dan and Nate often had the same taste in women on Gossip Girl.

The friendship between them was awesome to see, even if it didn’t last for the entire entire series.

Nate’s friendship with Chuck was always super obvious, but for a while there, Nate grew decently close with Dan as well.

Here’s a breakdown of some of the girls they both either dated or hooked up with.

Serena van der Woodsen.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that Serena tops off this list since the very first episode of Gossip Girl features Nate and Dan both waiting for Serena in the lobby of the hotel where she was staying. They were both hoping for a moment to see her and talk to her. At various times, Nate and Dan both had chances to date Serena and they both went head to head against each other trying to win her heart. In the end, Serena married Dan, but she did also date Nate at one point beyond their drunken hookup at the shepherd wedding.

Blair Waldorf.

The relationship between Nate and Blair was super serious for years until they realized they were growing apart. They decided they didn’t want to take their romance out of high school beyond senior prom. Still, they invested a lot of time into each other and had big plans for the future. When Blair and Dan dated each other, it came as much more of a shock to the system for viewers since they spent such a long time criticizing each other and speaking harshly to each other over the years. As jaw-dropping as Blair and Dan’s relationship was, it was still an interesting dynamic to see on the show.

Vanessa Abrams.

The truth of the matter is that Dan and Nate had very real feelings for Vanessa at different times. By the time, Dan was ready to date Vanessa, he’d already dated other girls like Serena, his high school teacher Rachel Carr, and superstar actress Olivia Burke. Even though Dan and Vanessa seemed like a couple that made a lot of sense on paper, their love story still crumbled when they tried it. Vanessa and Nate’s connection was also incredibly deep since they were always supportive of each other and continually excited about spending time together. But they broke up because Nate admittedly wasn’t ready for the relationship.

Ivy Dickens.

Nate and Dan both had brief romantic connections with Ivy, even though nothing of value developed for either one. Ivy grabbed Nate for a kiss when she was trying to hide from her ex-boyfriend, Max Harding. There was no way things are gonna work out between them since she was still going by the name Charlie Rhodes when she first kissed Nate. Ivy also enjoyed date night with Dan, and it could have blossomed into something more if she didn’t ask him to call her Serena while they were making out. Dan got too creeped out to move forward!
