Every Lana Del Rey song is amazing and so are the characters from Modern Family.
Here’s a breakdown of how the characters from such a beloved show connect with some of Lana’s best bangers ever.
Phil Dunphy: Lust For Life.
Phil is easily one of the happiest and most high vibrational fictional characters of all time.
Lana sings, “Cause we’re having too much fun. Too much fun tonight. And a lust for life, keeps us alive.”
Phil loved being alive. He loved his career in real estate. He loved doing magic tricks. He loved raising his kids. And he loved being married to his wife.
Claire Dunphy: Chemtrails Over the Country Club.
Claire’s role as a mother was one she embraced with happiness and love most days. Of course, she occasionally struggled, but she was content for the most part.
Lana sings, “Go to the market, the kids’ swimming pools. Meet you for coffee at the elementary schools. It’s beautiful how this deep normality settles down over me. I’m not bored or unhappy, I’m still so strange and wild.”
As a stay-at-home mom, Claire spent time at markets, swimming pools, coffee shops, and elementary schools often. She wasn’t bored or unhappy as a mom, she was fulfilled.
Haley Dunphy: Queen of Disaster.
Haley lived a party-girl lifestyle until she got knocked up on accident. She made tons of mistakes, but she always kept pushing forward anyway.
Lana sings, “Got me spinnin’ like a ballerina. Feelin’ gangsta every time I see ya. You’re the king and, baby, I’m the queen of disaster.”
Haley was most certainly the lovable queen of disaster on Modern Family.
Alex Dunphy: Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard.
As the middle-born child on Modern Family, Alex was often overlooked, overshadowed, and forgotten.
Lana sings, “Don’t forget me. When’s it gonna be my turn? Open me up, tell me you like me. F me to death, love me until I love myself. There’s a tunnel under Ocean Boulevard.”
Alex forged her own path using her intelligence to succeed in the world, even though she spent years feeling ignored and forgotten within her own household.
Luke Dunphy: Wild at Heart.
Luke was one of the most lovable characters on Modern Family for his hilarious antics and funny wildness.
Lana sings, “If they love me, they’ll love me ’cause I’m wild, wild at heart.”
These lyrics couldn’t be more accurate for Luke!
Jay Pritchett: Love Song.
Jay’s love and admiration for his wife, Gloria, was one of the most precious things to witness on the show.
Lana sings, “Now I’m here with you and I would like to think that you would stick around. You know that I’d just die to make you proud. The taste, the touch, the way we love. It all comes down to make the sound of our love song. Dream a dream, here’s a scene. Touch me anywhere ’cause I’m your baby.”
These lyrics could easily be thoughts Jay had about Gloria during their marriage.
Gloria Delgado-Pritchett: Young & Beautiful.
Gloria grappled with the frustrations that come along with aging during the later seasons of Modern Family.
Lana sings, “Will you still love me when I’m no longer young and beautiful? Will you still love me when I got nothing but my aching soul? I know you will.”
Jay reminded her he would always love, no matter how old she got.
Manny Delgado: Love.
Manny was a hopeless romantic on Modern Family. He was fueled by his desire to find true love with a gorgeous woman.
Lana sings, “You get ready, you get all dressed up. To go nowhere in particular. Back to work or the coffee shop. It don’t matter because it’s enough. To be young and in love.”
Imagine Manny singing these lyrics about his dream girl.
Cam Tucker: The Grants.
Cam is one of the most family-oriented characters on Modern Family. He’s all about maintaining familial closeness within his household.
Lana sings, “So many mountains too high to climb. So many rivers, so long, but I’m doin’ the hard stuff, I’m doin’ my time. I’m doin’ it for us, for our family line.”
Cam’s love for his family means he’d climb any mountain or swim any river.
Mitch Pritchett: West Coast.
Mitch is one Modern Family character who absolutely adores California, which is a state that happens to be located on the West Coast.
Lana sings, “Down on the West Coast, they got their icons. Their silver starlets, their Queens of Saigons And you’ve got the music, you’ve got the music In you, don’t you? Down on the West Coast, they love their movies. Their golden gods and rock and roll groupies. And you’ve got the music, you’ve got the music in you, don’t you?”
Mitch would have never left the West Coast if it wasn’t for Cam’s job offer that forced him to relocate to Missouri.
Lily Tucker-Pritchett: Don’t Call Me Angel.
Lily was always far from an angel on Modern Family with her big attitude.
Lana sings, “Boy, don’t call me angel. You ain’t got me right. Don’t call me angel. You can’t pay my price. Ain’t from no Heaven. Yeah, you heard me right.”
If Lily’s family caught her on a bad day, they would definitely regret it!
