Some Gossip Girl fans are obsessed with the relationship between Nate and Jenny, while others never understood the appeal.

A lot of us just don’t get why Nate had to pursue Jenny in the first place when she was never much of a likable character.

Nate and Jenny… Just, why?

Even though Nate and Dan didn’t start off the show as besties, their relationship grew as time went on during Gossip Girl.

One of the most sacred passages of “Bro Code” is to avoid chasing after either’s sister.

Well, Nate decided to throw this right to the side when he thought Jenny would look good on his arm.

While Nate was a good guy with a good heart, he didn’t exactly have the best track record with relationships.

Plus, Jenny was younger than Nate and would likely have done anything to fit in with the popular kids.

This was evident in how she acted at school and willingly even agreed to rob Blair’s mom’s store.

Nate knew Jenny liked him, but no matter how innocent or legitimate his feelings were for Jenny, going after his friend’s sister set the stage for only toxic things to happen in the future.

Dan and Nate lost their friendship over this little fling, which Nate probably regretted, as Dan and his family helped him out at his lowest moment.
