Nate cheating with Serena at the Shepard wedding was probably one of the shadiest things he did on the show.

Nate’s reputation on Gossip Girl could’ve been close to perfect on the show if not for this scandalous and problematic incident.

Cheating is inarguably one of the most, if not the most, toxic things someone can do while they’re in a relationship.

Nate and Blair decided from a very early age that they were going to save themselves for each other until their wedding day.

Blair was holding up her end of the bargain. Nate was as well, until the Shepard wedding.

Nate met up with Serena, one of Blair’s best friends, and they hooked up with each other.

Serena was notorious for being out there with herself. Nate should have known better than to run off to a secluded area with Serena, knowing full well what the likely outcome was going to be.

While it’s true that Blair and Nate weren’t meant for each other for the long haul, that’s still no excuse for Nate’s behavior.

Nate and Blair tried to reconcile their relationship and even went to prom together, fulfilling their lifelong plans, but they had no chance of fully coming back from Nate’s choices.

There’s no telling where the pair would have been if Nate kept it in his pants, but Blair was always destined to end up with Chuck Bass.
