Before the next week starts, let’s take time this shadow work Sunday to address something so many people struggle with.
As challenging as it is to avoid doing, stop living in the past and focus on moving forward.
There’s nothing more damaging to your emotions and happiness than wishing the past was still here.
It’s easy to continue living in the past, especially when your present isn’t exactly where you want it to be.
Stop. It’s time to move on.
How to stop living in the past

Living in the past is a natural thing for humans to do.
Like Andy Bernard on The Office said, “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good ole days before they’re gone.”
Rather than just wishing the past was still here, try doing the things that bring you joy.
It’s important to know that growth and evolution are two of the most important things in this world.
If you constantly wish for the past, it means you’re wishing for an older version of yourself that isn’t as evolved as they could be.
You’re someone who has passions and hobbies today.
If you act on what you’re passionate about today, you’ll learn to enjoy the moment.
Too many people live in the past and don’t enjoy the current moment they’re in.
Remember, you’re current reality is someone else’s dream, no matter how awful it might seem to you right this moment.
Instead of lamenting the past, look forward to the future and the present moment.
You’re going to see your joy and happiness flourish from that moment on.
What are your thoughts on looking in the past? Are you good at avoiding doing so? Let us know in the comment.
