It’s quite interesting to actually comprehend the impact that our environment has on our personal growth.

Most of the time we view the space we occupy as this external factor outside of who we are.

Until, say, we are stuck at a job we hate or an apartment that we can’t wait to vacate.

In the book “Atomic Habits,” James clearly emphasizes the impact that your environment has on your habits.

He insists on the importance of linking the environment to good habit formation, i.e., strictly using the bedroom for sleeping and not answering emails or scrolling through TikTok.

The result would, of course, be better sleep.

Our point is that your environment has a direct impact on your mindset and quality of life.

And when we say environment we don’t mean just the physical space but also other factors like people.

In most cases, one can improve their environment and make it a positive influence.

I.e., quitting a toxic job or relationship, cleaning your house, or vacating.

Sometimes drastic measures need to be taken once you identify the negative impact that your environment has on you and there’s nothing you can do to improve it.

I.e leaving a country, cutting off family ties, etc

With that said, our only questions for today are these?

Is your environment in alignment with who you are or are trying to become? If not, is there a way to improve it? If not, are you willing to take drastic measures to exist in a good environment?
