Some Gossip Girl fans saw Nate and Vanessa as an endgame couple they were rooting for.

However, Nate treated Vanessa quite poorly during their relationship. Let’s dive in.

Nate was Vanessa’s worst nightmare

Nate and Vanessa seemed to be a good pair.

Both were kind, caring, and had a sense of humility. It made perfect sense when they began seeing each other.

Even though plenty of fans aren’t the biggest Vanessa fans, most were happy for her when her energy could be directed towards Nate.

However, Nate didn’t exactly prove himself to be worthy of being with Vanessa.

Instead, he gave Vanessa empty promises and never came through for her when she needed it.

The best example is when the pair were planning to backpack across Europe together during the summer.

At the last second, Nate was given an internship offer that he felt he couldn’t pass up.

He left Vanessa hanging for a job that almost assuredly would have been there for him the following year if he wanted it.

Nate and Vanessa could have been endgame together, but his actions didn’t make that possible.
