There’s no good reason to be on dating apps in 2025. Dating apps are the definition of toxic.
While some people certainly find true love on dating apps, that’s more of a rare occurrence than anything else.
For most young women in 2025, it’s in your best interest to remove yourself from the toxicity of dating apps altogether.
Social media experts at Viralyft just analyzed a study to find out which dating options are the most popular according to monthly downloads.
Let’s check out the numbers they’ve gathered — even though we all know dating apps don’t deserve to take up space on your phone.
The most highly downloaded dating apps each month

According to Viralyft, Tinder is the most popular dating app in the number one spot with more than 6 million monthly downloads.
Tinder has a terrible reputation for being a toxic app that promotes casual sex and hook-up culture, so why are the monthly download numbers so damn high?
Something needs to change, ASAP.
Bumble lands in second place with more than 3 million monthly downloads.
Bumble is arguably just as bad as Tinder, except that the app forces women to send the first message of communication after getting a match.
Regardless of who makes the first move between men and women on dating apps, women seem to consistently get the short end of the stick by dealing with low-hanging fruit in the form of male matches who waste time and don’t have much to offer.
