Lana Del Rey has released so many beautiful songs that deserve music videos but these five that I believe truly deserved music videos the most.
A&W
She released “A&W,” a.k.a. “American Whore,” in 2023 as part of her Ocean Boulevard album.
It was nominated for a Grammy Award, but didn’t win. I truly believe “A&W” would’ve won a Grammy if it was accompanied by a video.
Say Yes to Heaven
“Say Yes to Heaven” was originally released in 2012, but it went viral on TikTok in 2020.
Then in 2023, Lana re-recorded and released the song.
Aside from the fact that the song is missing a bridge, the verses and chorus of the song are lovely and worthy of a music video for sure.
Get Free
“Get Free” came out in 2017 as part of Lana’s Lust for Life album. The song is a beautiful ballad to women who are either stuck in abusively toxic relationships, or women who have bravely escaped those abusive relationships.
The deeper message of this song is relatable to women who’ve been through that type of relationship cycle and it’s incredibly empowering because Lana describes the way she successfully freed herself of the toxicity.
Summer Bummer
“Summer Bummer” came out in 2017 as part of Lana‘s Lust for Life album.
Playboi Carti and A$AP Rocky are featured on the song and it’s one of her best songs with a hip hop sound.
This song would’ve had the most amazing music video with Playboi Carti and A$AP Rocky in the mix.
She already proved her on-screen chemistry with A$AP in the music video for “National Anthem.”
The official audio for “Summer Bummer” pulled in 35 million views, so you can only imagine how much attention an official music video would have received.
Let the Light In
Last but not least, Lana released “Let the Light In” in 2023 as part of her Ocean Boulevard album and that song also deserved a music video.
Although a lot of lot of songs are heartbreaking and sad, this is one song that’s incredibly romantic and high vibrational, compared to others.
It’s a song that would make sense to be played at a wedding and a music video for it would have been angelic.
