When Chappell Roan was asked about which Lana Del Rey songs she appreciates the most, she mentioned that two Lana songs make her cry.
Here’s what you should know.
Details…
She said those songs are “Ride” and “Mariners Apartment Complex.”
“Ride” is an incredibly powerful and emotional song about the painfulness Lana felt feeling young, alone, and struggling to find her way as she battled a war in her mind.
“Mariners Apartment Complex” is an equally beautiful song about a woman pleading with a man to let her love him properly.
She sings, “You lose your way, just take my hand. Your lost at sea, then I’ll command your boat to me again. Don’t look too far, right where you are, that’s where I am. I’m your man.”
The song highlights the fact that although Lana has been hurt by others, she is still willing to be there in her most vulnerable state for the person she loves.
I totally understand why Chappell is emotionally impacted by these songs.
What are your thoughts on this? Which Lana songs stand out to YOU the most?
