You don’t want to get on Zendaya‘s bad side! She’s been known to clap back against a hater or two!
Who could forget the times she clapped back against a news anchor for saying something racist about her?
Or what about the time she clapped back at the creator of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, for delays on Season 3 of the show?
We’re about to dive in on 10 times Zendaya clapped back against the worst haters, critics, and trolls ever.
First, Zendaya clapped back at Giuliana Rancic for a racist comment.

Why in the world did Giuliana think it was okay to say a blatantly racist comment about Zendaya back in 2015?
Zendaya appeared at the Oscar Awards that year with a dreadlocked hairstyle, and Giuliana had nothing but negative things to say about it.
She claimed that the KC Undercover actress must smell of “patchouli” or “weed.”
The fact that she said that means she assumes anyone with dreadlocked hair is someone who smokes mary-jane.
That stereotype directly tears down Black people and all individuals in African-American community.
Zendaya posted on Instagram to clap back against Giuliana in the classiest way ever.
She wrote, “There is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful. Someone said something about my hair at the Oscars that left me in awe. Not because I was relishing in rave outfit reviews, but because I was hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect.”
Zendaya went on to continue explaining why it was so wrong for Giuliana to say what she said.
Giuliana took to Twitter to apologize publicly to Zendaya writing, “Dear Zendaya, I’m sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had nothing to do with race and never would!”
That apology was pretty weak, so she tried again during a segment on E Network saying, “I do understand that something I said last night did cross the line. The result is that people are offended, including Zendaya, and that is not okay. Therefore, I want to say to Zendaya, and anyone else out there that I have hurt, that I am so, so sincerely sorry. This really has been a learning experience for me.”
Second, Zendaya clapped back against Sam Levinson for hinting she’s the reason Euphoria Season 3 has been so heavily delayed.

Zendaya wasn’t about to just sit back and take it with people hinting that she was the reason Season Three of Euphoria has been held up so much.
The creator of the show, Sam, hinted that Zendaya‘s busy schedule is the reason it took so long for Season Three to get off the ground.
With all the delays, fans of the show have grown increasingly frustrated by the entire situation.
When Zendaya was asked about her busy schedule being at fault for the delay of Euphoria Season Three, she told Vanity Fair, “I’ve actually been available. I’ve been waiting. I haven’t been on set in nearly two years.”
Zendaya might have other projects that she’s working on, but it sounds like she was always willing to make herself available for Euphoria.
However, it wasn’t up to Zendaya for Season Three to get set back into motion.
She was simply waiting on Sam and other factors to come together in order to get Season Three rolling.
Although Zendaya seemed annoyed to have to explain that she wasn’t to blame for the outrageous delays, she also shut down the narrative that she has any tension with Sam.
She told Vanity Fair, “What I’ve been really lucky with is working with great filmmakers and great collaborators, people who really support your ideas, and help guide you as well in the process.”
Third, Zendaya clapped back at Vons for employing a seemingly racist employee.
Back in 2016, Zendaya dealt with an unfortunate incident at a Vons grocery store.
According to her, she felt she was being discriminated against based on her skin color.
Zendaya, who was 20 years old at the time, walked into the store with a friend to buy $400 worth of gift cards.
For some bizarre reason, the clerk confused to complete the transaction.
The clerk allegedly hit back at Zendaya saying she didn’t think Zendaya could afford the total purchase.
According to Billboard, the clerk tossed Zendaya‘s wallet back at her. Talk about rude!
Zendaya posted a Snapchat video breaking down the scenario, saying, “That lady that was helping us, I don’t think she was a huge fan of our skin tone.”
She went on to say, “It was $400! Long story short, there’s so much progress to be done in our world.”
A representative from Vons put out a statement with People Magazine, apologizing for the ordeal. They said they were sorry “for any inconvenience or misunderstanding.”
It’s unclear if the clerk who treated Zendaya so poorly faced any repercussions for her bad behavior.
Fourth, Zendaya clapped back against trolls claiming she had beef with Law Roach.

Trolls started nasty rumors about Zendaya and her stylist, Law Roach, in 2023.
Zendaya and Law have been working together for years, so the fact that people tried to conjure up stories to pit them against each other was absolutely insane.
A seating mishap at Paris Fashion Week that year went viral on video, causing the world start asking questions about if there was a rift going on between Zendaya and Law.
Zendaya clapped back to shut the drama down with Elle saying, “When it happened, I said oh no, I hope people don’t try to create something from this. We’re so used to sitting together, but he didn’t know where to go. But obviously, people want to assume the worst of the situation, which is not always to deal with and hurtful.”
It is extremely hurtful when random strangers around the world start making up stories about you and your friendships, but that’s something Zendaya constantly deals with at her level of fame.
Fortunately, she was able to bring this story to a peaceful conclusion before it got out of control.
Fifth, Zendaya clapped back against fashion critics who dragged her in 2014.
Let’s rewind back to 2014 for a minute. That was the year Zendaya wore an infamous outfit to a Teen Vogue party.
To this day, people still bring up the outfit to make jokes about it!
Since Zendaya is such a confident celeb, she doesn’t let comments from haters drag her down.
If she’s getting bashed for one reason or another, she lets it roll off her back.
Years later in 2024, she clapped back against haters who had so much to say about her in 2014 for wearing an oversized Emporio Armani hat.
She told Vogue, “This was a controversial look. I still see memes about this particular look with my hat, but you know what? I stick by it. Me and Laura, we thought it was she at the time. I think it still chic. I would wear it again. I think law might have this hat. Might have to bring it out of the archives one day.“
Instead of shriveling up in embarrassment about the oversized hat she wore to that party, Zendaya has doubled down against her haters to claim that she would totally rock it again, if given the opportunity.
Sixth, Zendaya clapped back against trolls starting pregnancy rumors about her in 2022.

One thing celebrities deal with commonly? Rumors about being pregnant!
That is the case for Zendaya, who has fielded pregnancy rumors for years ever since launching her relationship with Tom Holland.
In 2022, Zendaya clapped back against trolls who continued to push the narrative that she was carrying Tom’s baby.
Multiple videos went viral on TikTok claiming that Zendaya and Tom were expecting their first born little one ever.
Zendaya posted a statement on her Instagram story saying, “See now, this is why I stay off Twitter. Just making up stuff for no reason weekly.”
The reason she mentioned Twitter is likely because most videos that go viral big time on TikTok eventually make it to Twitter as well!
The truth of the matter is that Zendaya wasn’t pregnant back then and she’s never announced a pregnancy during her entire time in the spotlight.
Now that she’s engaged to Tom, rumors about a pregnancy between them are going to be running more rampant than ever!
That’s the unfortunate reality for Zendaya and other celebs who are just as famous as her.
Seventh, Zendaya clapped back against Disney’s lack of diversity.

In 2017, Zendaya clapped back against Disney for not being inclusive enough when hiring actors for projects.
She spoke to Glamour about how hard she fought to make sure her on-screen family would be portrayed by Black actors on KC Undercover.
Zendaya explained, “I didn’t feel like there was any other choice. I was like, ‘If I’m going to do this, this is how it has to be.’ There needs to be a black family on the Disney Channel. A lot of people who aren’t people of color can’t quite understand what it’s like to grow up and not see yourself in mainstream media.”
In a separate interview, according to The Grio, she spoke about how crucial representation in movies and TV shows is.
She said, “There is no such thing as ugly. It’s hard as a young person of a different ethnicity or background to look at the TV and not see anyone who looks like you. Representation is very important.”
Zendaya further dived in about racial equality saying, “As a light-skinned black woman, it’s important that I’m using my privilege, my platform, to show you how much beauty there is in the African-American community.”
Her willingness to speak about this matter speaks volumes about what a cool and thoughtful human being she genuinely is.
Eighth, Zendaya clapped back against comedian Julie Klausner for accusing her of having an eating disorder.

Accusing people of suffering from eating disorders is unacceptable across the board.
Sometimes, people lose weight from health conditions. Other times, they struggle to keep weight on based on speedy metabolisms.
At the end of the day, someone’s body weight is no one else’s business to discuss aside from themself.
That’s why it was so outlandish when Julie Klausner talked smack about Zendaya’s slender physique in a derogatory way back in 2016 after the Kids’ Choice Awards.
Julie slammed Zendaya on Twitter calling her, “Thinspo model for your impressionable tweens.”
She also tweeted, “Zendaya’s ultimate retort to Giuliana Rancic is starving herself down to the size of one of her elbowz.”
She took it even further posting, “You don’t have to have an eating disorder to attend the Kids’ Choice Awards… but it helps!”
Julia went on to say, “I will never stop criticizing celebs who perpetuate dangerous beauty standards for a generation of girls who grow up thinking they’re fat. I’m concerned with the generation of girls who aspire to look like Zendaya. I do not worry about Zendaya’s health or care whether she eats.”
Zendaya had little to no patience for Julia’s BS. She clapped back saying, “Now… everyone go look in the mirror at their beautiful body, and love that ish #thickgirlswinning #skinnygirlswinning #weallwinning.”
Ninth, Zendaya clapped back against Euphoria haters who hate the illegal substance usage.
Do you think Euphoria is the type of show that glamorizes the use of illegal substances?
In our opinion, the show sheds light on how disturbing and messy addiction struggles can really be.
Some viewers have dragged Euphoria through the mud with disapproval, and by proxy, Zendaya has been negatively judged as well.
Zendaya clapped back at all the haters with Entertainment Weekly saying, “Our show is in no way a moral tale to teach people how to live their life or what they should be doing.
“If anything, the feeling behind Euphoria, or whatever we have always been trying to do with it, is to hopefully help people feel a little bit less alone in their experience and their pain.
“And maybe feel like they’re not the only one going through or dealing with what they’re dealing with.”
Zendaya’s clap back was classy AF if you really think about it. Euphoria has never been a show intended for young viewers.
It has never been a show that’s claimed to serve as a blueprint for role models of the world.
It’s a show that depicts the gritty and disturbing reality of what happens when you get hooked on illegal substances that can potentially ruin your life forever.
Tenth, Zendaya clapped back against trolls who don’t take mental health care seriously.

Mental health matters and that’s something Zendaya truly understands.
Tons of people don’t take mental health needs seriously because they think you’re a soft little snowflake if you talk about such matters.
That isn’t the case for Zendaya, though.
She’s clapped back against anyone who bashes the prioritization of mental health by speaking up on the issue and its importance.
In 2021, she told British Vogue about her own personal experience sitting down with a therapist.
She said, “Yeah, of course I go to therapy. I mean, if anybody is able to possess the financial means to go to therapy, I would recommend they do that. I think it’s a beautiful thing. You know, there’s nothing wrong with working on yourself and dealing with those things with someone who can help you, someone who can talk to you, who’s not your mom or whatever. Who has no bias.”
Tons of people started worrying about mental healthcare more than ever in 2020 amid the global pandemic.
The pandemic left a sad feeling in a lot of people’s hearts since it was such a painful time in life.
Whether you’re a celebrity like Zendaya or an average individual, prioritizing your mental health should truly matter.
The fact that Zendaya has openly spoken up about the crucial necessity of caring for her mental health is one of the most powerful clap backs ever against haters who don’t think it’s vital enough to worry about.
