Selena clapped back against Disney Channel executives.

Disney Channel might’ve been a wonderful place for Selena to build her resume as a young actress and singer, but it wasn’t always a place that gave her the warmest and most fuzzies feelings.

Selena clapped back against Disney Channel executives in a 2021 interview at the TCA Summer Tour saying, “I signed my life away to Disney at a very young age and I didn’t know what I was doing.”

As a reminder, Selena was heavily involved on Disney Channel as the lead character in Wizards of Waverly Place.

She also starred in episodes of Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, along with starring in Princess Protection Program alongside Demi Lovato.

Disney had a huge impact on Selena‘s career because it paved the way for her future.

Although she clapped back with unfortunate thoughts about Disney back then, she ended up following up those thoughts with more positive opinions afterward.s

She later told Radio Times, “I am beyond proud of the work I did with Disney as well. It kind of shaped who I am in a way.“

Without Disney, we have a feeling Selena would’ve still reached fabulous levels of success.

But as of now, it’s easy to understand how the Disney brand deserves some of the credit for her current notoriety.
