Let’s reflect on the time Nate Archibald was homeless on Gossip Girl for a sec.

It was one of his lowest points after his father was arrested and imprisoned.

It only got worse for Nate after Dan offered him a place to crash – and then kicked him out!

Nate’s frustrating “homeless” arc

Nate had one of the most interesting and challenging stories to follow during the show.

It became clear and abundant from an early point that Nate was going to have to fend for himself.

When his father’s fraud investigation really started to take shape, Nate’s family was forced to sell everything and get out as quickly as they could.

Nate didn’t go with them and instead slept in a sleeping bag on the floor of his old home.

There was no heat, no electricity, and he had to figure out his own meals.

He never complained, which some might find charming and endearing.

However, it was an incredibly toxic look.

There’s no shame in asking for help, especially when you’re clearly in a spot where you need it.

The only reason Nate got the help he needed was because Dan saw his living situation and offered him to stay in the loft with his family.

When it was revealed that Nate was interested in Jenny, Dan got pissed and decided to kick him to the curb.

Nate didn’t realize he would be forced back onto the “street” based on his feelings for Jenny, but that’s exactly what happened.

At that point, Nate decided to move in with his mother in the Hamptons, which totally put a wrench in his chance to pursue anything with Jenny.

But maybe… that was what was best for everyone involved.
