“You are the sum of the five people you talk to the most.”

This quote, often referenced by Dr. Joe Dispenza, holds serious weight—especially for anyone on a manifestation or personal growth journey.

The people you choose to engage with daily don’t just influence your mindset—they actively shape your future.

Let’s be real: if your five closest friends and family members are constantly complaining, stuck in the past, cynical about life, or simply uninterested in growth, it’s going to affect you.

Even if you’re doing affirmations and trying to raise your vibration, that negative energy can seep in.

Over time, it can slowly wear you down, making you question your dreams or delay your progress. That’s because we subconsciously mirror the energy of those around us. It’s basic neuroscience—and Dispenza’s work backs it up. Our brains are wired to seek belonging, which often means adopting the behaviors and beliefs of the group we’re most connected to.

That’s why who you surround yourself with is one of the most important—and often overlooked—parts of manifesting a better life. If you’re serious about attracting abundance, joy, love, and purpose, you need to make sure the people in your daily orbit are also aligned with those same values. It doesn’t mean cutting people off or being harsh with loved ones who are in a tough season. But it does mean being intentional with where you place your emotional energy and time.

The best-case scenario is finding friends and family who already “speak the language” of the Law of Attraction. People who understand concepts like vibration, visualization, self-worth, gratitude, and inner alignment. People who believe the universe is for them—not against them. People who dream big, think positively, and cheer others on.

In my case, I’ve intentionally created an inner circle that reflects this energy. My husband speaks the language of belief and intention. My older sister is someone I can talk to about vision boards and energy shifts without feeling judged. Two of my close friends are constantly working on their goals, growing spiritually, and staying mindful of what they attract. Those are the people I spend most of my time with—because they pour into me in a way that supports my own manifestation journey.

The fifth person in my “top five” isn’t someone I know personally—but she still has a massive influence on my life. Her name is Kathrin Zenkina, better known as Manifestation Babe on social media. Through her podcast episodes, Instagram posts, and courses, she’s become a virtual mentor for me. And that’s the beautiful thing about this era: if you don’t yet have high-vibe people in your real life, you can start with the online world. Tune into content from creators who uplift you, educate you, and expand your beliefs. Make them part of your mental circle.

We often think manifestation is just about what we do or think—but it’s just as much about who we let into our energetic space. You don’t need a massive group. You just need the right five.

So take a moment to reflect: Who are your five? Do they encourage growth, or hold you in place? Do they believe in abundance, or feed fear? Your circle could be the key to unlocking everything you’ve been trying to attract.

Choose wisely. Because like Dr. Joe Dispenza says—you are the sum of them.
