• The Fate of Ophelia tops the album with 50.1 million plays and $1,562,826 in estimated earnings during the first weekend.
  • The album achieves over 390 million total streams across all 12 tracks in just three days following its Oct 3 release.
  • Even the least-streamed track Honey earned $98,924 from 24.7 million plays.

New analysis reveals Taylor Swift‘s latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, earned an estimated $1.56 million in its first weekend on Spotify alone.

Fans have been sharing their frustrations about the album online, but Taylor’s earning abilities remain unmatched.

To determine Swift’s opening weekend figures, researchers sourced Spotify’s in-app streaming numbers and calculated estimated earnings based on the average Spotify royalty earnings of $0.004 per stream, then converted them into GBP.

Released on Friday, October 3, it racked up over 250 million streams in its first day and was named the biggest debut of the year. By Monday morning, the album had amassed over 390 million streams (October 6), already landing more in three days than Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft in its first week.

The album’s opening track, The Fate of Ophelia, emerges as the clear favorite among listeners.

The lead single garnered 50 million plays in its first three days, generating approximately $200,452 in streaming revenue. This outpaced any of the album’s other tracks by at least 12 million plays, with more than double the streams of the lowest-performing song.

Opalite secured the second position with 38 million streams, earning $152,003, while Elizabeth Taylor followed closely with 37 million plays and $149,932 in estimated earnings.

Honey is the least-streamed track, with 24 million plays, four million fewer than the next-ranking song, Ruin The Friendship.

The album’s success shows consistency across all tracks, with even the least-streamed songs performing well above industry standards.

The most and least-streamed tracks, and their Spotify earnings, are revealed.

The most striking pattern in the data is the minimal difference between most tracks on the album. Apart from the standout performance of The Fate of Ophelia and the slightly lower streams for Honey, the remaining ten tracks all performed within a narrow range of approximately 28 to 38 million streams each.

This consistency suggests Swift’s fans are listening to the album in its entirety rather than cherry-picking individual tracks, an increasingly rare behavior in the streaming era.

Marc Porcar, CEO of QR Code Generator, which provided the analysis, said: “Taylor Swift’s ability to generate over a million pounds from just one platform in a single weekend puts her in a rare category.

“What’s particularly impressive is the consistency across the album. There is a 2:1 ratio between top and bottom performers, whereas most albums see 5:1 or higher spreads and see dramatic drop-offs between their top tracks and the rest of the album. But Taylor maintains high streaming numbers even on her least popular tracks.
