Turns out your bedroom antics might be doing more for your body than you think.
A new study from the whole-body vibration fitness pros at Hypervibe just revealed which sex positions double as legit calorie-burning workouts — and TBH, some of them are basically Pilates with benefits.
Bedroom positions to consider

Coming in hot at number one is the butter churner, burning up to 70 calories in just 10 minutes.
That’s like… running, but way more fun. This position has one partner on their back with legs over their head while the other stands and, uh, gets to work. It’s a core workout, a flexibility challenge, and a cardio sesh all in one.
Right behind it is standing (66 calories) — perfect for testing your balance while toning those legs and glutes — and the classic doggy style (61 calories), which works your arms, shoulders, and core while still delivering on the fun.
Other high scorers include the kneeling wheelbarrow (56 calories) for an upper-body burner, lotus (49 calories) for an intimate hip workout, and the eagle (48 calories) for improving flexibility. Even legs up (42 calories) and spooning (34 calories) sneak in some muscle engagement.
Lower on the list but still calorie-positive? Sixty-nine (26 calories) — yes, even that counts — and the squat (17 calories). Meanwhile, reverse cowgirl (16 calories) and cowgirl (13 calories) were the least physically demanding, probably because they involve smaller, slower movements.
Gabriel Ettenson, MSPT, Chief Medical Officer at Hypervibe, summed it up perfectly: “Certain sex positions can double as mini-workouts. While sex shouldn’t replace your regular gym routine, the more physically demanding moves can totally complement an active lifestyle — plus bring extra benefits to your relationship.”
Moral of the story? Switch things up, get creative, and remember: pleasure and fitness are not mutually exclusive. 🔥💪
