• Nevada made the third-most monthly searches for a Vegas-theme bachelorette, at 323
  • Beach celebrations dominated the pre-wedding party scene across 30 states while Vegas themes ruled in 16 states
  • Standout regional favorites included South Dakota and Minnesota’s love for Mamma Mia parties, Montana’s preference for Cowgirl themes, and Wyoming’s unique passion for Western celebrations

The study uncovered major differences in how women across the country plan their final fling before the ring, with a clear split between preferences on the coasts versus inland areas.

Seaside celebrations ranked highest in 30 states with FloridaNew York and Massachusetts all hitting the beach for their pre-wedding parties.

New York had the highest monthly searches for beach bachelorette parties with 363.33 on average.

Florida was second for beach parties, with 278.33 average searches each month.

Vegas-style celebrations came second overall but still dominated in 16 states including CaliforniaNevada and Texas.

California recorded the highest monthly searches for any theme nationwide, with 755.83 queries for Vegas bachelorette parties.

Texas grabbed second place but fell far short of California’s numbers, averaging just 343.33 monthly searches for identical Vegas themes.

At the lower end of the scale, Wyoming recorded just 16.67 monthly searches for Western-themed bachelorette parties; the lowest search volume for any state’s preferred theme.

“These findings show how bachelorette parties have evolved from simple nights out to elaborate themed experiences that reflect the bride-to-be’s personality and regional culture,” said Mike Nemeroff, CEO & Co-Founder of Rushorder Tees. “Beach themes maintain their classic appeal across most states, likely due to their versatility and the universal desire to combine relaxation with celebration.”

A handful of states rejected the nationwide favorites in favor of more distinctive celebrations. Both South Dakota and Minnesota women showed strong preferences for Mamma Mia-themed bashes, while Montana stood alone with Cowgirl themes taking first place. Wyoming bucked all national trends by putting Western-themed celebrations at the top of its list.

Nemeroff commented on pop culture connections in the data. “What’s particularly interesting is seeing how pop culture influences these celebrations. The presence of Taylor Swift themes in the top five for states like Kansas and West Virginia shows how celebrity influence has started to impact traditions such as bachelorette parties.”

States with strong tourism markets often incorporated their famous attractions into bachelorette plans. Florida brides included Disney themes among their top five preferences, while Nevada’s overwhelming choice of Vegas themes matched perfectly with the state’s world-famous party reputation.

Nemeroff commented: “A study found that in 2023 the average cost of a bachelorette party was around $1,300. So for most women looking to cut costs, choosing a theme that uses local areas just makes sense. Florida has plenty of beaches and Nevada is known for Vegas so it’s no surprise that brides-to-be are choosing to stay local. The cost has risen partly due to custom apparel. This has become a central part of these themed celebrations, with groups creating matching shirts and accessories that commemorate the event and strengthen the theme.”
