If you and your boo are planning a dreamy getaway, Bali and Costa Rica should probably be at the top of your list.
A new study from luxury travel advisors The Resorts Collection found that both destinations are basically couple goals, tying for first place with an average romantic hotel rating of 4.70 out of 5 on Tripadvisor.
Rome snagged third place with a 4.65 rating, proving it’s still got that eternal city charm. Meanwhile, the Maldives (4.64) and Santorini (4.63) rounded out the top five, which honestly reads like the honeymoon starter pack.
Italy really flexed in this study with four spots in the top 15—Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, and Florence—making it clear that romance is basically in the country’s DNA. But plot twist: Paris, aka the so-called “City of Love,” didn’t even crack the top 10. It landed in 11th place with a 4.46 rating, which kinda suggests that vibes > clichés when it comes to romantic stays.

Here’s how the top 10 shook out:
- Bali — 4.70
- Costa Rica — 4.70
- Rome — 4.65
- Maldives — 4.64
- Santorini — 4.63
- Cape Town — 4.61
- Amalfi Coast — 4.56
- Capri — 4.52
- Zanzibar — 4.47
- French Riviera — 4.47
