Las Vegas has a reputation for being expensive AF, but if you know where to look, you can fill your whole trip (or weekend if you’re local) with fun experiences without spending a dime.
Whether you’re here for the Strip, nature, or just the vibes, here are 30 totally FREE things to do in Las Vegas.
1. Hit a nightclub for free
Don’t pay cover. Just DM a promoter on Instagram or use the Discotech app to get yourself on the guest list. Instant free entry. Guys are usually also free, as long as they’re in an even ratio with a woman. This is how my husband and I go on nightclub date nights once every month.
2. Photoshoot at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign
This is a bucket list photo spot and yes, it’s touristy, but it’s a must. The wait time can range anywhere from five minutes to 30 minutes, but the pics are worth it. Pics or it didn’t happen, right?
3. Wander through the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
The Bellagio is a vibe, every single season. This is due to the gorgeous seasonal displays. Whether you go at Christmas time or spring time, the flowers are divine. And it’s totally free to walk through.
4. Hike Red Rock Canyon
Hiking Red Rock Canyon is ideal for nature lovers in Las Vegas. Unreal desert views just 20 minutes away from the Strip.
5. Hike Mt. Charleston
A hike through Mt. Charleston is also perfect for folks who like staying active. Swap the desert heat for pine trees and cooler weather. My husband and I hiked Mt. Charleston on Christmas morning last year, just to catch a glimpse of snow.
6. Explore Clark County Wetlands
The Clark County Wetlands are underrated AF. I’m talking lush trails and wildlife, only about 30 minutes away from the Strip. My husband and I have enjoyed some romantic picnics there.
7. Explore AREA15
You don’t have to buy tickets for any of the activities at AREA15. It’s free to enter, and if you do, you can simply go for the art, neon vibes, and photo ops.
8. Watch The Sphere exterior show
Every night, the giant LED orb lights up with insane visuals. The Sphere is one of the most legendary additions to the Las Vegas Strip. Free to check it out from outside.
9. See street performers on Fremont Street
Elvis impersonators, breakdancers, acrobats… it’s all on Downtown Fremont Street.
10. See peacocks at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs
Yes, there are actual peacocks roaming freely through Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs. Totally free. Only about 20 to 30 minutes away from the Strip.
11. Check out flamingos at Flamingo Wildlife Habitat
There’s a cute little oasis tucked inside the Flamingo Hotel. Inside, you’ll spot gorgeous pink flamingos living their best lives. Since pink is my all-time favorite color, this is one of the thoughtful places my husband brought me in the early days of our relationship.
12. Catch a free outdoor movie night at Town Square
Pack a blanket and chill under the stars while watching a movie for free at Town Square. These movie nights take place September through October, annually. The movies are either rated G or PG so the whole family can go.
13. Free yoga classes at Clark County libraries
Namaste, without the studio fees. Just check the Clark Country libraries website for dates and times to attend yoga sessions without paying a dollar. Drop-in yoga classes at local studios in Las Vegas range from $25 to $45. However, at multiple libraries, you can practice your downward facing dog for free.
14. Take aesthetic pics at Wynn’s botanical gardens
Wynn’s botanical gardens remind people of the Bellagio conservatory on a smaller scale. Flowers, glittering lights, arts. It’s a bougie spot, but you don’t have to spend money to enjoy the scenery. It’s one of the most Instagram-worthy destinations on the Strip.
15. Watch games inside a sportsbook (any of them!)
You can take a load off at pretty much any sportsbook on the Strip when you want to catch a game. No need to gamble or sports bet. Grab a seat to lounge in and vibe with the energy. Keep in mind that some game days are way busier than others, depending on which teams are playing.
16. Fake sightseeing on the Strip
Photo opp ideas: Statue of Liberty (New York-New York), Eiffel Tower (Paris), medieval castle (Excalibur), giant pyramid (Luxor), and the tallest freestanding observation tower in America (Stratosphere).
17. Free pole dancing intro class (locals only) at Vertica
Try pole dancing, no commitment required. I’ve been a member at Vertica since 2023, and I’m obsessed. Pole dancing has helped me feel more confident and beautiful in my body. It all started when I signed up for a free introductory class a couple years ago. All locals are welcome.
18. Free Pilates intro class (locals only) at Club Pilates
Club Pilates offers another solid workout option without dropping $$$ in Las Vegas. This offer is meant for locals only, though. Pilates is an intense workout that leaves you feeling so accomplished after. Worth it.
19. Swim at the Sahara pool
You don’t have to be a guest at the Sahara to enjoy a pool day there. Just walk in and enjoy if you’re a local who happens to over the age of 21.
20. Free sound baths at Clark County libraries
Yes, the library is secretly a wellness hub. Just check the Clark Country libraries website for dates and times for when they’re offering sound baths. As a spiritual girlie, sound baths are a game changer for giving me the mental reset I so often need.
21. Learn how to gamble (without losing money)
Casinos like Excalibur, Circus Circus, and Venetian offer free gambling lessons daily. It behooves Las Vegas casinos for folks to get interested in gambling, so they’re quite happy to train you up.
22. Chill by the water at Lake Las Vegas
Lake Las Vegas is a low-key getaway from the Strip chaos. It’s like its own special oasis, away from the hustle and bustle. Fun fact: My husband and I got married at a Lake Las Vegas venue!
23. Visit The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art at UNLV
Rotating exhibits, contemporary art, and no admission fee? The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art at UNLV is a special place to visit for people who appreciate the beauty of art.
24. Laugh at The Dirty Comedy Show
Every Friday at South Point, The Dirty Comedy Show is offered at 12:30 am. It’s totally free and there’s no drink minimum.
25. Watch free circus acts at Circus Circus
Jugglers, trapeze, clowns all hit the stage at Circus Circus for daily performances. It’s like old-school Vegas, and this one is family-friendly.
26. Photoshoot in the arts district
Grab a friend and head down to the arts district for a mini photoshoot since there are so many pretty murals and backdrops. I did a photoshoot here with a friend back in 2019, and the pics are still some of my faves. So chic and artsy.
27. Explore our themed mega stores
M&M World, Hershey’s Chocolate World, and the Coca Cola Store are all worth checking out, even if you don’t buy anything. Simply strolling these stores to check out the merchandise is an experience in and of itself.
28. Visit Container Park for live performances
Container Park is artsy and fun with free live performances to tune into if you want. Container Park is filled with shops, restaurants, and more, but you are not required to buy anything when you visit.
29. See the Bellagio Fountains show
How could anyone want to skip out on the Bellagio Fountains show? Classic Vegas. It runs every 15–30 minutes. My husband and I had our wedding photoshoot in front of this fountain.
30. Catch the Lake of Dreams show at Wynn
The Wynn is a lovely hotel, and the Lake of Dreams show is just another cherry they place on top. Lights, music, and holograms over a waterfall backdrop. It plays every 30 minutes from sunset until 11:30 pm.
Vegas doesn’t have to drain your bank account. Between outdoor adventures, casino freebies, and random hidden gems, you can actually experience a ton of what makes the city legendary for $0.
