Cassie from Euphoria is one of the most polarizing fictional characters in modern television, and for good reason.
She starts a lot of discourse because people are unsure whether they should love her or hate her.
There’s an argument to be had on both sides, but for now, let’s dive into one of her most unhinged moments on Euphoria in preparation for the release of Season 3.
Can you recall when Cassie started leaning to the obsessive 4 AM glow up routine in order to get needs attention?
He ignored her in the hallway and it left her feeling broken, rejected, and unwanted.
For a character like Cassie, who craves male validation and attention, Him ignoring her in the hallway was enough to send her spiraling.
She started waking up at 4 AM to overdo it with her skin care routine, hair care routine, ice rolling, shaving, body scrubbing, body lotioning and more.
She felt good about pouring into herself as much as she was doing, but the fact that she was only doing it with Nate in mind is what made it so disturbingly toxic.
One thing that I was really reminded of while watching Cassie’s 4 AM glow up routine was reminiscent of the reason some people turn to eating disorders or micromanaging people around them.
When a person feels that they have no control over things in their life, they often exhibit over excessive behavior in the only areas of their life where they have control in order to stop feeling so powerless.
Cassie was trying to create the illusion of control through self perfectionism.
She felt like if she could make herself perfect enough, then she could make herself desirable enough and that she would finally be loved and she would finally be wanted.
Do you think this Cassie moment was unhinged AF? Let us know in the comments.
