Cassie from Euphoria is one of the most polarizing fictional characters in modern television, and for good reason.

She starts a lot of discourse because people are unsure whether they should love her or hate her.

There’s an argument to be had on both sides, but for now, let’s dive into one of her most unhinged moments on Euphoria in preparation for the release of Season 3.

Do you remember the moment Rue exposed Cassie in front of everyone to distract from the fact that she personally had relapsed?

Rue didn’t want people focused on her addiction struggles, so she spit out the only thing she could think of to get the heat off her own back, which was exposing Cassie for secretly hooking up with Nate.

Cassie tried to be helpful by telling Rue to take her sobriety one day at a time, and it deeply pissed Rue off.

So much so that Rue put Cassie on the spot asking just how long she’d been secretly hooking up with Nate.

Cassie tried to laugh it off and pretend that Rue was just making it up, but it became abundantly clear to everyone there that Cassie was struggling to keep up the façade.

Rue straight up told Maddy and everyone there that she saw Cassie get into Nate’s truck a month prior and at that moment, Cassie was exposed.

A moment that was supposed to be focused on serving as an intervention for Rue ended up becoming the moment Maddy started cussing Cassie out and threatening to be violent with her.

Cassie, who is clearly not a physical fighter, started hyperventilating because she didn’t know how to react knowing that her physical safety was now being threatened, and that her friendship with her best friend was now irreversibly damaged.

The most unhinged detail of this scene is that she continually kept trying to lie to Maddy’s face about it, even though it was abundantly clear that she had been sleeping with Nate.
