A tantric coach has revealed the best foods to eat before intimacy that can naturally enhance sexual desire and performance.
Steffo Shambo, founder of Tantric Academy, says that certain foods have been used across cultures for centuries to increase libido and treat sexual function issues in both men and women.
“Specific foods work as natural aphrodisiacs by enhancing blood flow to genital areas and boosting sex hormone production,” Shambo said. “The right nutrition before intimacy can make a significant difference in sexual energy levels.”
Watermelon
According to WebMD, Watermelon is rich in an amino acid called L-citrulline, which assists in improving blood circulation.
“The body converts citrulline into arginine, which opens blood vessels and increases blood flow to the penis,” Shambo explained. “The best way to get the most out of the benefits of watermelon as an aphrodisiac is to drink watermelon juice, where the highest concentration of citrulline can be found.”
Ginkgo Biloba
“The leaf extract from the Ginkgo Biloba tree has been used in Chinese medicine for centuries to treat sexual dysfunction,” Shambo said. “It works as a sexual stimulant by improving the levels of nitric oxide in the blood, relaxing artery walls and allowing more blood to flow around the body.”
Korean Red Ginseng
This root helps both men and women improve sexual function. “Korean red ginseng not only treats erectile dysfunction but also helps achieve multiple orgasms. It can be consumed as a liquid, powder, capsule, or tea,” Shambo noted. “It can be consumed as a liquid, powder, or a capsule, but you can also boil the dried root in water and drink it as a tea or hot beverage.”
Oysters
“Oysters contain high amounts of zinc, essential for testosterone production and healthy sperm,” Shambo said. “Both men and women experience increased sex drive after consuming them.”
Chili Peppers
Capsaicin, the compound that gives chili its heat, increases blood flow throughout the body. “For men, this enhanced circulation can help increase penis size and sexual desire,” Shambo explained.
Asparagus
Rich in vitamin E, also thought of as the sex vitamin, asparagus can enhance sex drive for both men and women. Shambo explains: ” Vitamin E, folic acid, and vitamin B6, which can be found in asparagus, increase the production of sex hormones and boost sexual arousal.”
Saffron
While saffron is believed to help symptoms of depression in men and women, it also works as a sexual stimulant, increasing sexual desire for people who are unable to perform sexually due to depression.
Maca
Eating maca for at least 6 weeks has proved to increase libido and enhance sexual experiences. Its properties to increase sexual desire and libido are well known across the world, and you can consume maca in the form of powder by adding it to smoothies and breakfast dishes.
Fenugreek
The seeds of fenugreek contain a chemical compound called saponins, and more specifically, diosgenin, which is associated with the production of sex hormones. Therefore, consuming fenugreek can help your body produce more sex hormones and ultimately increase your libido and sexual desire.
Foods to Avoid
Shambo warned against consuming certain items before sex. “Alcohol can cause erectile dysfunction and difficulty reaching orgasm. Red meat affects testosterone levels, while cheese contains hormones that can interfere with your body’s natural production.”
Mint products, flaxseed, and beans should also be avoided before intimacy, according to the expert.
Shambo emphasized that while these foods can help, psychological factors play a major role in sexual energy. “These foods, together with the right consultation and teaching methods, can significantly improve your sexual drive,” he concluded.
Sexual difficulties often stem from mental barriers and psychological state, but incorporating these natural foods can be an effective first step toward enhanced intimate experiences.
