Let’s talk about one of the most hated characters in the Gossip Girl fandom.

It seems the majority of viewers have little to no patience for this particular character.

Gabriel Edwards

Gabriel Edwards is a trash character. I feel like a lot of people forget the impact of Gabriel and how much have he leaked in the show, but he truly reached havoc in ways that were not fixable.

He pretended to fall in love with Serena so he could weasel his way into her social circle and scam all of her wealthiest, friends and family out of their money.

But the worst part of this all is that he scammed Rufus Humphrey, who barely had any money to invest in the first place. He invested Dan and Jenny’s college funds and ended up losing everything.

So since he was with Lily at the time, Lily felt the need to step up and intervene by putting that money back into his account. And when Rufus found out she did that, he felt emasculated.

And that was sort of the beginning of the end for Rufus and Lily’s marriage. He started losing trust in her and he felt like he wasn’t a man who could be a provider.

And she was growing increasingly frustrated with him because he had made such a stupid business move, and he was always acting so prideful.

They tried not to make it a big deal that Lily was so much more financially well often than him, but after that incident with Gabriel happened, it became impossible to ignore that Rufus just couldn’t compete or compare with Lily financially.

All of that can be pinned on Gabriel. And then Gabriel had the audacity to say he actually developed real romantic feelings for Serena.

Please miss me with the bullshit. And btw… I hate Poppy Lifton just as much.
