A lot of people have hopped on the bandwagon to start hitting on Kylie Jenner recently, and I think there are a few reasons why that’s happening.

I personally consider myself to be a fan of Kylie, and I have been since her King Kylie era, when she was posting on Snapchat all the time.

Nevertheless, I think people have been hating on her a lot lately, and I’ll break down the list of reasons why I believe that’s happening.

I’m not saying I agree with any of these reasons or support the hate train, but I am still going to explain what’s been going on in the minds of pop culture fans as of late.

Timothee’s actions

As much as women shouldn’t be blamed for the actions and behaviors of their male partners, it’s still undoubtedly happens. Girls get blamed for dumb things their boyfriends and husbands do all the time. And unfortunately, that has been the case for Kylie since she started dating Timothee Chalamet. Their relationship mostly gets good coverage with positive headlines whenever they enjoy date night together, but Timothee got caught up in a few problematic scandals that have definitely negatively impacted Kylie‘s reputation. The biggest issue was his negative critique of ballerinas and opera performances. He said no one cares and that ballet is a dying art form. Ironically, his comments caused opera ticket sales to boost like crazy, so it sort of ended up being somewhat of a good thing. But Timothee still received tons of backlash, and there are still some people who are pissed off at him for saying that stuff. Since Kylie is his long-term girlfriend, she’s also been dragged over it as well, even though the words didn’t come out of her mouth.

Political silence

The next point I’ll make about why some fans of Kylie are pissed off at her lately is that she has been completely silent in the political space right now. With everything going on politically, influential people must use their voice to speak up on the right side of history. Once upon a time, back in the day, Kylie used to speak up. In 2020, for example, she spoke up in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, noting that these issues are more important to her than ever now that she is raising two black children. However, since then, she hasn’t really said a word about anything that matters. She doesn’t talk about anything important when it comes to Human rights. Although she isn’t a vocal advocate or supporter of his current administration, silence can be seen equally as dangerous. Silence comes across as indifferent, which can only come from a place of privilege. And when people come from a place of privilege, it makes them come across as selfish. Kylie has fans who are so diverse from so many different races, genders, ethnicities, and religions, it comes across as problematic to see her remain completely silent.

Low-quality cosmetics

The next reason Kylie‘s fans have been disappointed comes down to the low quality of her cosmetic products. A Reddit thread was launched a few months ago with someone asking, “Who is honestly keeping Kylie Cosmetics in business?“ They went on to talk about how the makeup is overpriced, and they can’t find any people around them, even folks who work in the beauty industry, who use any other products aside from the lip kits. I personally didn’t have the best experience using Kylie Cosmetics products back in 2017 and 2018. But I assume the products are of a better and higher quality today. Even though I have that assumption, I don’t really have evidence to back it up since I don’t plan to buy any new products. Kylie Cosmetics has been on a financial decline for a while now, with its value plummeting from $1.2 billion in 2019 to around $36 million annually today. This is definitely a reason some people have hopped on the bandwagon to throw shade at Kylie.
