Comparing faux lashes and simple mascara – Which one is better?

Eyelashes are known to enhance every makeup look. As small as they are, they make quite a difference. Their appearance can be achieved with two options – mascara and faux lashes.

Beauty enthusiasts have repeatedly compared faux lashes and simple mascara, trying to establish which product is better. And while they both have their pros and cons, they have individual properties that make them stand out.

Mascara is an eye makeup product that gives the lashes a longer, thicker look. Mascara is known for its dark and thick consistency that produces the desired result when applied.

Most mascara produced are water-soluble and get smudge due to sweat or moisture on the lashes. But with this is their fatal flaw manufacturers have learned to make mascara water-proof to counter the smudging. With the right laboratory recipe, mascara will last longer.

Faux lashes are eyelash extensions placed on top of natural lashes. Faux lashes give the eyelash a fuller and voluminous look, like mascara.

The difference between the two is that faux lashes are not ruined when they come in contact with water or moisture. Their mode of application also differs as faux lashes need to be glued in place for the desired effect, giving them their water-resistant nature.

While the debate goes on about which is better, choosing what you are most comfortable with is the best thing to do. However, most people use faux lashes rather than mascara as they provide a more visually dramatic difference.
