If you’re in the middle of searching for a brand new job, there are a handful of job applications you shouldn’t your time with.
You might be in the middle of pursuing a career change, or you’re fresh out of college. It doesn’t necessarily matter where you land on the spectrum if you’re simply trying to avoid time wasters during your job search.
TikToker and recruitment expert @DoNotApplyHere (Natasha Voss) posted a video breaking down the five jobs. You shouldn’t be applying to in 2023.
Realtor
As unfortunate as it is, pursuing a job as a real estate agent or realtor isn’t the best move in 2023.
Natasha explains, “Market saturation for realtors is at an all-time high. Online services like Zillow and Redfin are phasing out realtors. The real estate market is on a downturn in many areas.”
This makes a lot of sense with so many millennials and Gen Zs opening up about their lack of funds and their inability to own homes.
Photographer

According to Natasha, photography is another career path to stay away from in 2023.
She says, “Photography is project-based and a decrease in demand for professional photography services makes it harder to find consistent work.“
The truth of the matter is that photography isn’t a make-or-break service in most people’s lives.
Yes, folks will want to hire a photographer for major events like weddings… but other than that, the need for professional photographers isn’t as intense as it once was.
Recruiter
The idea of being a recruiter might sound intriguing to you, but it’s actually not the best idea ever as a career path in 2023.
Natasha notes, “The job market is on a downturn and recruiters are getting laid off at an alarming rate.”
When your job is to help other people find jobs, but the job market itself is failing, you’re certainly not in a good position.
Data Entry

If you were thinking about applying for data entry positions in 2023, you might want to come up with a different plan.
Natasha says, “Automation and AI will make data entry positions, in the very near future, obsolete.”
Conversations about Automation and AI have been circulating for years, but this type of technology is finally becoming something serious at this point in time.
Executive Assistant
Landing a position as an executive assistant used to be a well-paid and fulfilling career path to follow for the most organized individuals.
Natasha says, “Virtual assistants and automation have decreased the demand and salary for this position making this a dead-end job choice.”
