Listening to music by Lana Del Rey is an experience that takes you out of this world. She’s got a heavenly voice with divine lyrics to match. There’s a reason people consider Lana to be such an angelic human being.
There’s a reason her diehard fans have stuck beside her since the early days of her career. Her vision for dreamy music videos always comes to life perfectly to match the energy of her amazing songs. These are some of her dreamiest music videos to date.
Freak
“Freak” by Lana was released in 2015 as part of her Honeymoon album. The music video starts with her encouraging her lover to try an illegal substance he’s probably never dabbled with before.
Once he decides to go along with it, it’s clear he’s enjoying one of the most blissful experiences of all time. Lana comes across as somewhat of a bad influence in this music video, but that’s part of the vibe.
Lust For Life
Lana teamed up with The Weeknd for their song “Lust for Life” in 2017. It’s a beautiful song about how we as people are the creators of our universe.
It’s our choice to act accordingly. In the music video, she and The Weeknd jump across the massive letters of the iconic Hollywood sign and sing about wanting to take off their clothes.
White Dress
The music video for “White Dress” by Lana was released in 2021 and it embodies what nostalgia would like look, if it could look specifically like something.
The song and music video showcase a time in Lana’s life when she was a 19-year-old waitress who had to wear a white dress as her uniform. She reflects on how simple life was before she was famous. She describes it as being “such a scene” because she felt seen.
Chemtrails Over the Country Club
“Chemtrails Over the Country Club” was also released in 2021 with a stunning music video to match. Lana invited her besties to film the video with her and in fact, they also graced the cover of the album with her as well.
She truly went all out for this music video in particular including old fashion cars, old-fashioned jewelry, and even the inclusion of werewolves. The climax of this music video is pretty creepy but in a dreamy way.
Born to Die
“Born to Die” is a Lana song from 2012 with one of the most heartbreaking music videos ever. Despite the sadness of the music video, there’s still something extremely dreamy about it.
In the music video, she and her lover are clearly experiencing some emotional highs and lows but for the most part, they seem to be passionately obsessed with each other.
Ride
“Ride” by Lana is a 2012 song and music video that will literally never be forgotten. The introductory poetry, as well as the poetry she gives us at the end, are absolutely flawless.
And who could forget her relatably magical lyrics at the climax of the song? She sings, “I’m tired of feeling like I’m f***ing crazy. I’m tired of driving till I see stars in my eyes. It’s all I’ve got to keep myself sane, baby. So I just ride. I just ride.”
Unfortunately, Lana wore a feather headdress in the music video, which led to some serious backlash from the Native American community. She started paying reparations to the Native Americans in 2020 with her poetry book sale income.
Tropico
Tropico is a short film by Lana that came out in 2013. In the music video for “Gods & Monsters,” she plays the role of a stripper dating a drug dealer as they try to overcome the obstacles of their unfortunate circumstances.
In the music video for “Body Electric,” she and her lover play the role of Adam and Eve from the Bible. In the music video for “Bel-Air,” she and her lover frolic around in a beautiful open field.
