Hosting a backyard barbecue or enjoying a late-night firework show are common practices for people celebrating the Fourth of July.
This summer holiday tends to be a great backdrop for family members and friends to connect with each other.
Some of the songs you’re probably used to listening to on the Fourth of July include “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood, “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue” by Toby Keith, and “Living in America” by James Brown.
A lot of these songs are from a very long time ago, though.
Just because songs are old, it doesn’t mean they can’t still be enjoyed, but it’s also a great idea to open your horizons to more modern music that brings about the same sentiment.
Here are a few modern songs to add to your playlist while celebrating the Fourth of July this year.
“Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus
“Party in the USA” was released by Miley Cyrus in 2009. Miley really did her thing with this song and its epic music video to match.
She referenced pop culture icons like Britney Spears and Jay-Z. She also touched on the free-spirited energy that comes with being young and alive.
“All Summer Long” by Kid Rock
“All Summer Long” by Kid Rock was released in 2007 as part of his Rock ‘N’ Roll Jesus album. The song is full of nostalgia and memories of good times Kid enjoyed during the summer seasons of his youth.
“Good Time” by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen
“Good Time” by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen should certainly be added to your Fourth of July music playlist. This song is so fun and high vibrational! It was released in 2012.
“God Bless America – And All the Beautiful Women in It” by Lana Del Rey
Unfortunately, Lana Del Rey never released a music video for her song “God Bless America – And All the Beautiful Women in It.“ This song was released in 2017 with a beautifully melodic tone.
“Firework” by Katy Perry
This list simply wouldn’t be complete without a mention of “Firework“ by Katy Perry. This banger is one of Katy’s greatest hits to date.
Although she’s released an incredible discography over the years, no one can argue that “Firework” is simply one of the most inspiring songs in existence.
