Working while you’re on vacation is an absolute no-go. Seriously, don’t even think about it.
It’s totally awesome if you’re passionate about your career, but working while you’re on vacation will put you on the fast track to burnout.
Learn to relax on vacation instead of worrying about work

Close yourself off from your work responsibilities as soon as your vacation starts. Make a pact with yourself to stick to your guns.
When you’re taking a break from work or you’re cashing in your PTO, hopping on work calls and answering timely emails shouldn’t be your concern.
No matter how much of a workaholic you might be (and no matter how pushy your management team might be) it’s your job to say “no” to taking on any work assignments while you’re enjoying your vacay.
Vacations are your chance to relax and rejuvenate

If you’re working straight through the time you’re supposed to be chilling out, there’s no way you’ll feel refreshed by the time you clock back in.
Watch the waves of the ocean crash against the sand. Get a deep tissue massage from a professional. Sip a fruity cocktail (or mocktail) with a garnish on top.
Catch a tan. Enjoy a stage performance. Wear your favorite bikini. Listen to some party music. Sleep in until the late afternoon.
Do whatever it is you know you will need in order to create a sense of true relaxation before returning to the routine of your job.
You deserve a solid work-life balance. Your mental health will be better off, and you’ll thank yourself later.
