Watching Miley Cyrus grow up in front of the spotlight and cameras in the titular role of Hannah Montana on Disney Channel was wildly impactful in the world of pop culture.
Miley kept her same name on the show while playing the normal teenage version of herself. Her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, also played her on-screen father.
Miley would throw on a blonde wig and take on the persona of Hannah Montana, the pop star with a secret identity.
Her incredible vocals made it easy to absolutely adore her on the show.
Hannah Montana catapulted Miley into superstardom, and she is still considered one of the biggest musicians of this generation now.
Interestingly enough, there are a few other actresses who had a chance at playing the role.
Taylor Momsen
Can you picture Taylor Momsen playing Hannah Montana? We sure can! She’s got a beautiful voice, so she could’ve successfully handled the role as well.
Two years after things didn’t work out for Taylor as Hannah, she ended up landing the role of Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl.
JoJo
JoJo is recognized for being an incredibly talented singer with a very powerful voice. She’s another individual who could have done a great job playing Hannah.
She ultimately said “no” to the role. Later on, she revealed that she didn’t regret her decision.
Aly & AJ Michalka
Aly & AJ Michalka were both approached to potentially play the roles of Hannah Montana and Lilly Truscott by Disney executives.
If they had moved forward with the idea, they would’ve had to figure out who was going to play Hannah and who was going to play Lilly.
Daniella Monet
It’s easy to laugh at Daniela Monet’s silly character on Nickelodeon’s Victorious while watching old reruns.
She starred in that show alongside Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice. She was someone who is heavily considered to potentially play Hannah at one point.
