All you’re doing is hurting yourself when you get involved with lazy and unambitious romantic partners.

This applies to any partner you’re dating who has loads of “potential.”

If they haven’t already taken action to lean into their potential on their own, you are wasting your time.

You can’t care about someone’s success more than they do. Dating unambitious people is incredibly detrimental to your long-term happiness and peace of mind.

A relationship with an unambitious person is bound to lead you down the path of disappointment and frustration.

You’ll always feel like you’re being weighed down and held back by your lazy partner if they’re never willing to step up or put forth any effort.

This becomes an even bigger issue if you consider yourself to be a highly motivated individual.

It’s not your job to convince your partner to strive for success or do better for themselves.

It’s a huge mistake to fall in love with someone based on the potential you see in them. If they’re not already actively taking steps to be successful on their own, there’s not much you can do to force the matter.

The longer you stay in a relationship with a lazy person, the more resentful you’ll potentially become.

Unless you’re comfortable with the idea of being the main breadwinner in your relationship forever, dating an unambitious person isn’t for you.

Some people settle into relationships like this because they’re convinced they can’t do any better.

Remember that you’re capable of attracting a partner who’s equally as talented, successful, and ambitious as you are.

Any thoughts telling you otherwise stem from insecurity and self-doubt. Squash those beliefs whenever they arise.

Your unambitious partner will never be able to keep up with you

The more successful you become, the greater access you’ll have to different experiences.

In other words, you’ll be able to afford first-class flight seats, upscale hotel rooms, spacious apartments to live in, last-minute concert tickets, fancy restaurant meals, and more.

If your partner can’t afford those things with you, you’ll get stuck paying for BOTH of you to experience the finer things in life – or you’ll have to enjoy every exciting experience without them by your side.

Either way, it’s a huge bummer.

It makes more sense to date someone who can match your level of ambition. If the person you’re with can’t match your energy, it’s time to rethink the relationship.
