Dakota Johnson’s fashion choices never fail to make headlines, and her recent appearance at the Vogue Brazil Ball in Rio de Janeiro was no exception.
The actress, known for her style prowess, made a bold statement by channeling her character Madame Web in a stunning crystallized spiderweb dress.
With her upcoming role in the Spider-Man spinoff Madame Web, coming out February 14, Dakota Johnson cleverly paid homage to her character at the Vogue Brazil Ball.
Spider-themed gown
She wore a custom version of the Annie’s Ibiza Cobweb Midi Dress which perfectly captured the essence of Madame Web with its intricate spiderweb design adorned with glittering crystals.
The sheer gown, crafted from black silk mesh, exuded elegance and mystery.
The hand-beaded crystals, resembled dewdrops on a spider’s web. She also showcased her daring spirit as she confidently embraced the see-through silhouette, donning a black thong underneath.
To complement the mesmerizing gown, Dakota opted for a matching sheer black veil that cascaded gracefully over her shoulders.
With minimal jewelry, save for a spider-shaped statement ring, Dakota let the dress take center stage.
Dakota finished off the spider-themed look with strappy black sandals.
Dakota plays a superhero
The actress told L’Officiel that she wanted to try this role out because of the character’s superpower.
“I heard that this was going to be made, and it was interesting to me that the main character’s superpower is her mind, and that she is a woman,” she said.
“That is something that I can really get behind. That’s very real to me, and it’s really powerful and sexy.”
