From classics reimagined to mind-blowing sequels, this year’s lineup is off the charts. Let’s dive into the top ten flicks everyone’s buzzing about in 2024. 

Mean Girls: January 12, 2024

Hold on to your Burn Books, folks! “Mean Girls” is back, but this time, it is an adaptation of the Broadway musical that premiered in 2018.

It will feature much of the same storyline, just with songs included. This new iteration is directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr. and is once again written by Tina Fey.

Madame Web: February 14

“Madame Web” brings a whole new vibe to the superhero universe of Marvel. Dakota Johnson‘s clairvoyant paramedic takes on a mind-bending adventure, potentially laying the groundwork for bigger Marvel plots.

Dune Part Two: March 1

Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi masterpiece is back with its sequel. Timothée Chalamet‘s Paul Atreides navigates newfound powers and epic battles. Zendaya, who only featured for seven minutes in the first movie, is set to be the star of Part Two. It’s a sci-fi extravaganza you can’t miss.

Kung Fu Panda 4: March 8

Our favorite martial arts-savvy panda, Po, voiced by Jack Black, returns for a spiritual showdown against a shape-shifting sorceress. This marks the return of the franchise after eight years. Kung fu fun at its finest!

Challengers: April 6

Love, drama, and tennis! Zendaya’s coaching skills are put to the test in this romantic tennis saga. Expect an intense love triangle, lots of racquets, and some ace performances.

Luca Guadignino, the director, confirmed the movie will have queer overtones with Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor being the love interests. 

Back to Black: May 10

Time for a musical journey through Amy Winehouse‘s life. Marisa Abela stars as the iconic singer, giving us an inside look at the making of “Back to Black.” Prepare for some heartfelt melodies!

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga: May 24

Mad Max is back with a sequel focused on Furiosa – the character played by Charlize Theron in the 2015 movie. This time, it will be played by Anya Taylor-Joy. Get ready for high-octane action, intense battles, and a captivating journey through the Wasteland.

Deadpool 3: July 26

Marvel fans! Get hyped. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman team up again for more R-rated superhero fun. Expect hilarious antics, action-packed madness, and a glimpse into the MCU universe. 

Joker: Folie à Deux: October 4

Lady Gaga joins Joaquin Phoenix in the musical thriller, with Gaga as Harley Quinn and Phoenix reprising his role as Arthur Fleck.

Between Joaquin Phoenix’s dance moves and Lady Gaga’s vocals, it’s already looking to be a decent musical. 

Wicked Part I: November 27

Wicked marks Ariana Grande‘s biggest movie to date as she takes on the role of Glinda in Wicked.

Ariana, alongside Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba are headlining this epic musical adaptation. Directed by Jon M. Chu, it’s a star-studded spectacle ready to transport you to a magical world.
