Choosing yourself can bring major upgrades to your life. But what does “choosing yourself” really mean?

TikToker @r0chir breaks it down for us. “When you start following your happiness, that is when life gets so much better.”

Following your happiness is one of the most important forms of self-care.  It’s prioritizing yourself by paying attention to how you feel. 

What choosing you really looks like

You do more of the things that make you happy and you do less of the things that don’t make you happy. 

This can be a hard process- because a lot of people don’t believe they deserve happiness.

“Most people live their lives this way. Most people have this awful victim mindset where they think that they can’t be happy in life.”

They don’t think good things are possible for them. Their outlook on life does not benefit them at all.

“It all starts in your fucking brain. Because you create reality through your mind. This is where it all begins. Every single thing started in the mind at first.”

Look around you.  Every object was someone’s idea. That pencil. Those tweezers. That hairbrush.

“Every little thing that came into fruition in the physical reality started in the mind first. So why do you think that your reality and your life and your future doesn’t start from here either?”

Those ideas that you have for your life and yourself are valid.  Don’t let them just be ideas. 

Acting on them is how they come into your reality and how you ultimately decide the person that you’re going to be.

Create a positive mental environment for yourself. Look at the positive side of things more often and choose to see the good.

Once you flip your perspective in this way, your reality has no choice but to reflect that.
