We’ve been wondering when Taylor Swift was originally swooned by football player Travis Kelce. 

Their kiss at the Superbowl was enough to prove that there’s more than just a spark between them.

Inside Taylor and Trav’s love story

It all started in 2016 when Travis admitted he would kiss Taylor Swift and marry Katy Perry if he had a choice to pick either of these gorgeous ladies.

In 2017, Taylor released a bop called “Endgame.” She used football terms in the lyrics singing:

“I wanna be your endgame
I wanna be your first string
I wanna be your A-Team
I wanna be your endgame, endgame.”

Interestingly, lover-boy had already been dreaming about a chance with Taylor by the time word got out in 2023 that they’d started seeing each other. 

In one of the episodes of Travis’ July 2023 podcast New Heights, the footballer admitted missing out on going out with Taylor during one of her on-the-road tours in Kansas City.

Travis said he was hurt because she wouldn’t talk to anyone and “she doesn’t meet anybody and at least she didn’t want to meet me.”

He confessed he wanted her number so badly that he felt she’d deliberately snubbed him that night.

By September 2023, the cat was out of the bag. Taylor was spotted wearing a Foundrae’s Forever & Always a Pair Pendant, which has an opal teardrop stone on it.

Rumors floating around at the time were that the opal is Travis’s birthstone. (He is a Libra.)

Interestingly, it didn’t take long before a source confirmed that Taylor had been secretly seeing the football star. 

In fact, both side tried to keep their relationship away from the public. According to a source from Taylor’s camp, the singer downplayed their relationship: “She and Travis have hung out twice, and it’s nothing serious”.  

But by the end of September last year, Taylor was already accepting invites from Travis. 

By October 2023, word got out that she’d invited some of her friends over for Travis’ Sunday night game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, and Sabrina Carpenter. 

Eventually, the story about their romance got solid when both were spotted holding hands at SNL’s party.

And even sweeter when the girlfriend of another Chief player shared a picture of the duo, with Taylor stretching to kiss Travis on the cheeks in late October. 

Ever since then, both have been spotted together, with the latest being the Kansas City Chiefs Superbowl win in February this year against the San Francisco 49ers to become Super Bowl champions for the third time in five seasons.

On whether Travis will pop the question soon, a source closer to the footballer said it’s unlikely, thus leaving many of Taylor’s fans wondering if both will go the distance.

However, it’s still too early to tell. But for now, it looks like they’re loving the moment and that’s really all that matters.
