When you think of Tennessee, you think of cities like Nashville and Memphis. However, there are plenty of other towns in Tennessee worth checking out.

These small towns provide the southern charm many people look for in the United States. There’s also a ton of great eating options in towns outside of Nashville and Memphis.

If you’re looking to spend time off the beaten path check out these places in Tennessee.

Granville is a lovely place to unwind

With a population of only 469 people, Granville is a great place to go and unwind away from people for the weekend.

The town is right next to the Cordell Hull Reservoir, which makes the Granville Paddle and Board rental shop a must-visit.

The best way to clear your head is to sway back and forth on the reservoir. If you’re not much of a water person, the Lake Meadow Farm is a great place to go horseback riding.

Here, you’ll go along the reservoir for breathtaking views. You can also visit the T.B. Sutton General Store, Southern Shops of Granville, or the Granville Gift Shop to collect memories from your time in Granville.

Erwin is for outdoorsy people

If you’ve ever dreamed of rafting, the USA Raft Adventure Resort provides you with the experience of going down the Nolichucky River.

You’ll meet tons of new friends during this adventure. Rock Creek Park offers campgrounds for those looking to get off the beaten path and explore the Cherokee Forest.

The Nolichucky River Learning Institute offers kayaks to those who want to explore the river. Erwin has made their name thanks to their outdoor activities. Travelers who want their adrenaline to soar should visit.
