It’s irresponsible to not mention John Denver when it comes to musicians who are in love with the state of Colorado.

John talked often about how much he loved and adored Colorado from the bottom of his heart. Here’s why he thought it was such a special place – and why you should think about visiting.

A trip to Denver is worthwhile

John spent his career living in Aspen, one of the nicest parts of Colorado.

Colorado has adopted John as their own, thanks in part to his song “Rocky Mountain High.” The state did so, even though he wasn’t actually born there.

The talented singer/songwriter was born on December 31, 1943, in Roswell, New Mexico. That didn’t stop him from migrating where his heart was calling in his adulthood.

As of now, “Rocky Mountain High” is one of the official state songs of Colorado.

When John sadly passed away far too young in a plane crash, he had his ashes released about the Rocky Mountains.

John is one of the most iconic musicians to ever be born, and not mentioning his love for the state would be a disservice to him and Colorado.

He changed his legal name from Henry John Deutschendorf to John Denver, thanks to his admiration of Colorado.
