The hit reality TV show is the reason people like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are so famous today.

According to research from USBets, there are a handful of songs you’ll definitely want to avoid when competing on American Idol.

These are the songs that will most likely get you eliminated from the running.

“Feeling Good“ by Cy Grant and/or Nina Simone is not a great song to sing on American Idol.

So far, it’s led to three eliminations and one bottom two placement among contestants.

“The Show Must Go On” by Queen is another song to avoid since it’s in the top five songs that have led to American Idol rejections.

“I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith, “Come Together” by The Beatles, and “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac are three of the safest songs to sing since they help contestants advance to the next round most frequently.

As far as which songs have been covered the most on the show, Stevie Wonder is the most covered artist in the history of American Idol.

His songs have been covered a whopping 72 times! The Beatles have been covered 66 times, Elton John has been covered 55 times, and Whitney Houston has been covered 50 times.
