It’s incredibly common for people to cut corners where they can as a way of saving money.

In reality, it might actually be costing you more than you realize by cutting corners in areas you shouldn’t be.

TikToker @Sasha_user5 has a lot to say about this topic. Here’s her solid advice.

Stop cutting corners

Sasha says, “Something that my parents always taught me is to never ‘save’ money on myself or be stingy with myself because you always end up losing more money than you intended to.“

In one example, she describes someone trying to save money by walking home at night instead of paying for a taxi.

When you walk home late at night, you instantly put yourself in harm’s way. Anything can happen to you – including a robbery.

If someone were to steal from you during a late-night walk home, it’s obvious you would’ve protected your money by simply paying for a safe taxi ride home.

Sasha’s second example is that she moved into the cheapest possible apartment she could find when she first lived on her own as a young adult.

Since her apartment wasn’t up to standard, she didn’t enjoy spending time there at all!

She ended up spending money to hang out in places away from her apartment including restaurants, shopping malls, and more.

Because of that, she spent more cash than she would’ve spent on a nicer apartment that she didn’t need to :”escape” from.

The moral of the story? Invest in yourself. Stop cutting corners. You deserve to have nice things.
