Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in Euphoria and Anyone But You, is making headlines for her unapologetic response to criticism about her looks and acting skills.
The actress took to Instagram to share a photo of herself wearing a sweatshirt with the words: “Sorry for having great tits and correct opinions.”
With this post, Sydney seemingly fired back at Hollywood producer Carol Baum, who recently made disparaging remarks about her appearance and acting abilities.
Baum’s comments came during a screening of her 1988 film Dead Ringers, where she questioned Sydney’s appeal and talent.
“She’s not pretty, she can’t act,” Baum said. “I don’t get Sydney Sweeney.”
Sydney hits back in Instagram post
Despite the criticism, Sydney confidently embraced her physique, sharing images of herself enjoying the sun in Mexico in a brown bikini, and jamming out to music from a mariachi band on the beach.
In response to Baum’s remarks, Sydney’s representative condemned the producer’s behavior, calling it shameful for a woman in her position to attack another woman in the industry.
Syndey’s rep highlighted the importance of supporting and uplifting fellow women rather than tearing them down.
“How sad that a woman in the position to share her expertise and experience chooses instead to attack another woman,” the rep said.
“If that’s what she’s learned in her decades in the industry and feels is appropriate to teach to her students, that’s shameful.”
Despite the criticism directed at her recent film Anyone But You, in which she stars opposite Glen Powell, Sydney remains grateful for the support of her fans.
The film may have faced mixed reviews from critics, but it achieved significant success at the box office, grossing $200 million worldwide.
Sydney expressed her gratitude to her fans for their continued support and love for the film, emphasizing the importance of their enthusiasm in the face of criticism.
“You guys are the best,” Sydney wrote via her Instagram Story in January after learning of the movie’s box-office numbers.
“I know I keep saying this, but I honestly can’t thank you enough for continuously sharing your love for this film.”
