Here’s some advice about love and dating, straight from Hailey Bieber!
Hailey has been married to Justin Bieber since 2018, and their timelines serves as proof that they’re a serious couple.
Hailey knows a thing or two about making it in Hollywood as a successful model. Let’s see if she knows a thing or two about relationship advice.
Here’s a roundup of her best gems.
First, take advantage of your single era before committing to a serious relationship.
On an episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Hailey said, “Having the time to be on your own and having the experience to be single and just, like, travel and, having had that time, I think was the most important thing. That was the biggest thing for me was that I had my own life experience before I joined my whole entire life with somebody and had my own identity and comfortable in my own skin.”
Hailey’s advice is helpful to anyone who’s currently single and wondering if the grass is greener on the other side.
Second, don’t concern yourself with the outside opinions of others.
According to Grazia Daily, Hailey said, “The only two people in a relationship are the two people in it. I’ve been working on retraining my thought process to understand that. Nobody from the outside really knows what’s going on between us.”
In other words, your relationship is sacred and should be treated as such.
Opinions from other people might always flow in your direction, but that doesn’t mean you have to acknowledge them from anyone.
Third, it’s okay if you’re still learning things within your marriage.
According to Harper’s Bazaar via Brides, Hailey said, “You don’t figure things out and get married but rather get married and figure things out. I just think life is changing all the time—day to day, week to week, year to year.”
After getting married, it’s perfectly normal and acceptable to continue learning brand new things with your partner.
You don’t have to try to be perfect while you’re still in the dating phase – or the engagement phase.
Fourth, never dredge up the past.
On the Pretty Big Deal podcast, Hailey said, “We don’t try to poke at the past because I don’t think that’s fair, and I’ve never liked it. I don’t need you to remind me. I’ve had to work past it. Thank you. We don’t point fingers.”
If you really want to forgive your partner for something they flubbed on, you genuinely have to forgive and forget.
Stop dragging them through the mud over it. And the same rule should apply to you.
If you made a mistake, your partner should love you enough to forgive and forget without continuing to guilt trip you.
Fifth and finally, long-lasting relationships require real effort.
According to Vogue Australia, Hailey said, “Look, marriage is always going to be hard and I think good relationships are the relationships that you put the work into.”
From her perspective, making any long-lasting relationship work is going to require real effort. But if you’re willing to do the work, your relationship will survive and thrive.
