When you try to search and find Jennifer Lawrence on Instagram, you’ll find nothing but fan accounts created by people who are obsessed with the Hunger Games actress!

She doesn’t personally have an account for herself, though. Here’s why.

Jennifer Lawrence won’t dabble with social media.

You’ll never catch Jennifer on Instagram or other social media platforms because she hates the idea of being judged unnecessarily.

She opened up about the topic with Time to address the way unrealistic beauty standards have completely turned her off and created her aversion to social media as a whole.

She did admit that she occasionally lurks on social media to see what’s going on in the world among others, even though she doesn’t have her own profiles.

She said, “I’m on it. But I’m a voyeur: I watch, I don’t speak. There is always so much backlash. So many people are listening and paying attention, and they have so many opinions about absolutely everything. I really don’t want to welcome that unless it’s absolutely necessary.”

Curiosity is totally natural, so it isn’t all that shocking that Jennifer uses social media to see what’s going on with friends, family members, and other celebs once in a while.

In that same interview, she went on to say, “I don’t want to put myself out there for no reason. Unless I’m promoting something or something really burns my onions, you won’t hear from me.”

Putting yourself out there as a celebrity gives the world access to you in a way that some famous folks simply aren’t comfortable with.

When it comes to social media, Jennifer also added, “I will never get Twitter. I’m not very good on the phone or technology. I cannot really keep up with emails so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me. If you ever see a Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that says it’s me, it most certainly is not.”

Fan accounts will likely always exist with Jennifer featured as the star! But that doesn’t mean Jennifer will ever take the bait and join the platforms for herself.
