On the Mama Knows Best podcast, Addison said, “I think it’s definitely possible to have a successful relationship through DMs. I mean, I think like, starting in DMs is what I mean. I feel like that comes hand in hand with dating apps in a way because Instagram can be a dating app in a way.”

Don’t close yourself off to the idea of love finding you in your inbox on Instagram or TikTok.

Second, love yourself more than you love your relationship.

In Addison’s song “Obsessed,” she sings, “I’m obsessed with me as much as you. Say you’d die for me I’d die for me too. And if I lost you I’d still have me I can’t lose.”

Her lyrics are a stark reminder that self-love is your greatest super power in the dating realm.

Third, get comfortable sliding into DMs when you have a crush.

When you’re crushing on someone, don’t be so shy that you hold back from reaching out.

On the Mama Knows Best podcast, Addison said, “My top advice for DM-ing overall would for sure be like be confident, have fun with it, slide up on a story. That’s a really good one! I think that sliding up on stories is my key point if you’re sliding into the DMs and it feels award or you don’t know what to say.”

Fourth, embrace your hopeless romantic side.

According to The Morning Mash Up, Addison said, “I think my entire life I’ve kind of always looked up to love. I’m a hopeless romantic, if you will.”

It’s totally acceptable to keep an open mind and an open heart when it comes to love, just like Addison.

Fifth and finally, know your worth.

In an Instagram caption, Addison wrote, “You are worthy of love no matter what you’ve been through. You are worthy of peace. You are worthy of happiness.”

Knowing how valuable you are in your relationships is a must so you can avoid poor treatment from romantic partners who don’t totally respect you.
