If you’re curious about whether or not Miley Cyrus ever plans to have children, she’s been super open and honest about her stance on motherhood.
As of this publication, Miley is 31 years old, which means she’s had a little more than three decades to figure out exactly how she feels about bringing kids into this world someday.
Here’s the truth about how Miley Cyrus feels about having kids.
Miley recently told W, “I look at myself almost every day in the mirror and I say, ‘I am a woman.’ I’m 31 now, and I still don’t know if I want kids or not. “I feel like my fans kind of are my kids in some way. I’ve heard Dolly say that too because she didn’t have kids.”
When she mentioned Dolly, she was referring to none other than her legendary godmother, Dolly Parton.
This isn’t the first time Miley has opened up about her views on having kids. In 2019, she told Elle, “We’ve been doing the same thing to the earth that we do to women. We just take and take and expect it to keep producing. And it’s exhausted. It can’t produce. We’re getting handed a [messed up] planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child. Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that.”
Miley isn’t the only person who’s had thoughts like these. Tons of millennial women are opting out of motherhood because they don’t love the idea of bringing kids into the world when the future of our planet feels so uncertain.
The uncertainty stems from concerns about politics, widespread diseases, pandemic fears, financial strains, natural disasters, and other very real concerns.
So, since Miley doesn’t seem too interested in having kids, does she care about getting married at all?
Miley has been down that road. She married her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, in 2019.
By the time they got married, they’d already been in each other’s lives for about 10 years after meeting on the set of The Last Song in 2009.
They filed for divorce in 2020 after less than a year of marriage.
That said, Miley has already experienced what it means to be married, so it’s unclear if she wants to go through that again.
Based on the lyrics and music video for her song “Flowers,“ it’s now widely believed that there was some infidelity going on in their marriage, and Liam might’ve cheated on her with his Hunger Games co-star, Jennifer Lawrence.
As of now, Miley has been in a relationship with a musician named Maxx Morando since late 2021. Conversations about marriage between them don’t exactly seem to be on her radar either.
