Some people act like life should be a breeze, but the truth is, healing isn’t easy.
Why healing trauma isn’t more heavily pursued
“Doing the work on yourself isn’t just listening to a bunch of podcasts and saying, well I’m holier than thou.” She points out.
Healing means facing those scary parts of you. It means revisiting those painful memories that you’ve buried deep down.
Instead of tackling those tough emotions head-on, many folks just want a quick fix. They don’t want to feel the hurt anymore, so they look for shortcuts.
Here’s what Sabrina has to say: “Part of actually doing the f*cking work means you need to feel those feelings, means that you need to face the demons in the closet that you are so fucking terrified of facing”

Therapy can help but it’s not a magic cure. You have to do the work yourself.
So, instead of making excuses or blaming others, it’s time to turn to yourself. Every time you want to run to someone else for answers, try looking inwards instead.
Because if your life isn’t what you want it to be, there’s a reason for that. And the only way to change it is by doing the hard work of healing from within.
