Jessie J was interested in recording the song herself, but it ended up being passed off to Miley.
Once it was released, it spent 28 weeks in a row on the Hot 100 Chart peeking at the number two spot.
According to Billboard, the royalties Jessie earned from writing those lyrics helped pay her rent for about three years.
As of now, “Party in the USA” by Miley has more than 967 million views on YouTube. It’s pulled in more than 4.4 million likes with more than 440,000 comments.
It’s definitely not the only song Miley is respected for, though. Major tracks like “Wrecking Ball,” “Flowers,” and “The Climb,” are all just as beloved.
As far as Jessie goes, some of her most noteworthy songs have been “Price Tag,” “Bang Bang,” and “Flashlight.”
